Speaking of Huff and Mountjoy
By Centinel | May 9, 2008
The San Francisco Chronicle includes the contest among those that we can blame on term limits:
Term limits have turned some former political allies into campaign foes as voters prepare to select nominees for 100 seats in the California Legislature.
In a half dozen races on the June 3 primary ballot, former lawmakers are trying to revive political careers that were at least temporarily interrupted by term limits.
Standing in their way are sitting lawmakers from their political party who are either running for re-election or trying to extend their terms by moving to the other house.
It’s enough to break your heart. Seriously, though, how competitive is this race? I thought Huff was crushing Mountjoy in fundraising. Anyone know?

As far as I know, Bob Huff and Dennis Montjoy are still on friendly terms.
But when I have gone to Sacramento to lobby for local govenment, Bob Huff has been on the the FEW on either side of the aisle who has his head on straight. Maybe it is because he had a real job before getting in politics.
My wife and I am walking the streets of Arcadia, letting folks know how supportive Bob has been for the ENTIRE San Gabriel Valley. That is the first time for us, and it was 101 degrees out there for seven hours on Saturday and four on Sunday.
Please check both candidate websites for their endorsements….Jessica’s law, Foothill Transit, and the Gold Line all have in some way benefitted from Bob.
Arcadia folks are friendly and classy and always offer water to the overheated.
I only wish Walnut had peacocks.
