The Pasadena Museum of California Art has an odd sign composed of 25 smaller traffic signs, over the entrance to its parking garage on Union Street. The signs normally inform and warn drivers of upcoming hazards or things that may require a driver to be prepared for. I could go on and on about the meaning or interpretation of this particular work of modern art, but I won’t. Often, whimsy speaks for itself.
Oh, and the museum has “real” art too, not just the abstract stuff.

nice picture of a fun public art piece! fyi the pmca lot (free, but smallish) is on its ground floor — that parking lot is a fuller seminary/public lot across the street. /// after oh 120 years of it, in what sense is abstract art not art?

You know, just around the corner from ther on Los Robles and Union there is a tile store. In their window they always have something interesting covered in tiles. I have a picture of a toilet from last year. Vurrently there is a torso of “David” that is quite stunning.
