About

The Foothill Cities Blog is a place to talk about the issues that matter to the cities ranging from Pasadena to Pomona. We had a great run from the end of 2006 to the end of 2008. After a server meltdown, we’re back in action and ready to do what we do best: make unfounded accusations, piss off local officials, and imply that local government is going to hell in a handbasket.

Seriously, though, the FC Blog is place for people to voice their opinions, even if they articulate unpleasant truths. Fact is, local governments are often poorly run, and there’s a lot about our communities that could use improvement. We don’t criticize because we want to tear people down (except for Arnold Alvarez-Glasman…we have a vendetta against him). We’re here to point out truths about our communities and how they governed that would otherwise go unnoticed. If we come across as harsh, well, sometimes tough love is necessary. But we do love the Foothill Cities and want to see them prosper.

Comment Policy:

The comment policy is straightforward.

No swearing. Let’s keep this family friendly. Maybe dysfunctional family friendly, but some kind of family.

Post authors can edit comments at will: If you’re a troll, spammer, or just a jerk, guess what? Your comment will probably be deleted. Don’t come crying to me about free speech either. Free speech means you can start your own blog, not leave your moronic thoughts all over mine.

Serious trolls will be banned: Leave enough wretched comments and your IP gets the boot. End of story.

We won’t witchhunt: Yes, city officials, we know you leave comments supporting your policies while pretending to be other people. No, we will not come after you. This was a contentious debate, but on the balance I’d rather have you astroturf your hearts out and let the other readers realize who you are, without us having to tell them. P.S. Yes, Ken Spiker & Associates and Berghoff, we know someone in your office hated Wendy. No, we won’t out you. Oh, crap. Ah well, we promise not to out anyone else. We swear.
