About

Since adding contributors and growing by leaps and bounds, we’re shedding the carapace that once was our old “About Us.” Our new mission statement is in the process of being very carefully crafted, with the regular assistance of several local micro-breweries. We appreciate your patience. Of course, that assumes that anyone is anxiously awaiting our new “About Us” section, which probably isn’t the case. Ahem.

In the interim, enjoy a nice smattering of what people have had to say about us:

“Go back and read that Newsweek story I linked above. Who did they go to for comment? The curmudgeonly metro columnist for the Pasadena paper? Nope. The story quotes “Centinel” from the local blog Foothill Cities. Which is pretty good, by the way.” — Pat Reignier, Senior Editor at CNN Money Magazine

“We’ve covered the FCB on this site before, and they do some pretty darned good work.” — Richard, Sam Adams Alliance

“I laugh at them.” — Pomona Mayor Norma Torres

“It would be very difficult to understand the issues Pasadena faces without . . . walking the streets of Pasadena,” wrote a blogger on the Foothill Cities website, which covers Pasadena and the surrounding area.” — Dan Glaister, The Guardian

“”The credence that one puts behind this publication is no greater than the National Enquirer.” — Pomona City Attorney Arnold Alvarez-Glasman

“It goes without saying that The Foothill Cities blog is probably the most widely read, mentioned, criticized, and popular blog in the area.” — Aaron Proctor

“The Foothill Cities Blog, which covers several cities in the San Gabriel Valley, was the first to report that Assemblywoman Nell Soto (D-Pomona) was absent from the Capitol for 25 days because of pneumonia. It was later reported that she still collected more than $20,000 in per diem pay.” — Jonathan Abrams, Los Angeles Times

“Area bloggers also seem wary. “The type of journalistic coverage Macpherson is talking about really could be done by someone in another country, largely because their “coverage” often consists of little more than glorified press releases and parroting of the local media,” writes an anonymous blogger called Centinel on TheFCBlog.com.” — Andrew Murr, Newsweek

“They are gossipers.” — Pomona Mayor Norma Torres

“I love the blog’s new banner and design.” — Kevin Roderick, LA Observed

“whats up man? welcome to facebook!” — Andrew Brown
